My guest today is Brittany Steptoe-Wright of BSW Design, who left her high-paying job in the corporate world when she was offered a Design Assistant position with Scott Brother’s Entertainment on HGTV. She now runs her family-owned design business with her dad and is committed to sustainable and vegan design.

About Brittany Steptoe-wright

Brittany began her career in renewable energy after earning her Bachelor’s degree in Sustainable Development from Dalhousie University. She worked as a Project Manager for 7 years on solar installations and electrical systems management. Brittany left the corporate world when she was offered a Design Assistant position with Scott Brother’s Entertainment on HGTV.
Brittany started her own design firm (BSW Design) and also co-own her family renovation business (Steptoe Carpentry, Inc.) which she runs with her Dad.

She is a dog-mom, lifelong equestrian, wife to an Army veteran, and a big believer in “Design for Real Life” – where having a functional, inspiring space can be conducive to improving all areas of your life.

Brittany is a certified Vegan Designer and tries to wrap sustainability, vegan products, local, handmade, women-owned businesses into as much as she can.

She is also a huge supporter of a friendly design community, where we can all support one another and move away from the old “snooty” profession this once was.
